Welcome to the new TheTennisTimes.com. Here at The Tennis Times we are always trying to improve our site and grow our tennis loving community. In this latest upgrade you will notice a huge amount of additions and improvements, with even more to come in the near future.

First of all anyone can now become a member of The Tennis Times. Members will be able to join groups, participate in forums, have discussions, gain achievements and even post their own articles to the home page of The Tennis Times.

There are still a few additions that are yet to be added, but everything will be live within the next week. We are testing out this version of The Tennis Times with the aim of finding out if this is what the community is after. Let us know your thoughts and opinions on the new theme and upgraded features. Top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain defeated compatriot Nicolas Almagro 7-6 (5), 6-7 (2), 6-2 to defend his Mexican Open title Saturday. It is Ferrer’s 11th career title and extends his career head-to-head record to 6-0 against Almagro. “I didn’t think I could win here twice in a row and I realize I am having the best season start of my career this year,” Ferrer said.

Juan Martin del Potro reached the finals of the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships with a 6-1, 7-5 win over second-seeded Mardy Fish on Saturday. Del Potro, who only played three tournaments in 2010 because of a right-wrist injury, is playing in his first final since winning the 2009 U.S.

Djokovic, Zvonareva Upset Federer, Wozniacki for Dubai, Doha Titles

Djokovic broke Federer in the third game of the first set, and came down from a break in the second set. Djokovic consistently pounded the Federer backhand, which is not aging gracefully with the 29-year-old Swiss, much like Pete Sampras’ one-handed backhand declined in his final years. Late in the second set the Federer backhand also let him down, producing some critical unforced errors.

del Potro Reaches First Final Of Comeback

Vera Zvonareva defeated top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-4 Saturday to win the Qatar Ladies Open final. The third-ranked Russian earned her 11th career WTA title and first since a victory in Pattaya City a year ago. “I was just going for my shots. Caroline is a great player,” Zvonareva said.
