Converse announces the Jack Purcell Evo for tennis.

Monday, January 31st, 2011

Jack Purcell Evo 1 Are you old enough to remember Jack Purcell’s on court? Well they’re back and designed for TODAY’s tennis game. Really. The Harvard University tennis team is wearing them this Spring if you want to check them out in action.

The new Converse Jack Purcell Evo features Jack Purcell heritage in a high-tech reincarnation using current Nike technologies.

JP Evo 5 The shoe is classic in styling but fitted with the latest in Nike Flywire making it far lighter than the shoe of old. Click on the images here to blow them up.

The Evo combines on-court benefits like breathability, increased support for lateral movement and Nike Lunarlon foam for a light, bouncy feel, all while featuring the big trademark “smile” on the toe. Kinda retro, kinda not…in a good way.

JP Evo 3 The new to market tennis shoe will be available in crimson (that’s Harvard’s color) and white as pictured here in stores and online February 15, 2011 through the fall. More information on the JP Evo and images are below. MSRP $110.00. Unisex.

Find a retailer at Converse or buy after Feb. 15 at Tennis Warehouse and other online tennis retailers.
